HomepageTechnology admin 2 years ago Categories: Technology Asus Zenfone 10: Everything We Know So Far The Zenfone 10 is expected to launch this year, and it should be a big deal, but the rumored changes may not be well-received by everyone. Zenfone The Asus Zenfone 9 was one of the best compact Android flagships released in 2022, but will the Zenfone 10 be able to live up to or even surpass it? In the past couple of years, Asus has greatly trimmed down the number of smartphones it releases each year. Its product lineup is now entirely focused on just two flagship lines — the ROG gaming phone series which includes the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6D, and the Zenfone number series. The Zenfone 10 is expected to be a big deal. While its launch is not expected to happen until the second half of the year, a leak revealing key details of the phone has surfaced, and it reveals a big change to the Zenfone series. Asus’s next Android flagship will ditch the compact form which made it popular, according to a report by Pricebaba. While it won’t be as big as the Zenfone 8 Flip, the word compact reportedly can’t be used to describe it anymore. The End Of Compact Android Flagship Phones? Rather than a 5.9-inch display like its predecessor, the Zenfone 10 is said to have a 6.3-inch AMOLED display like the Pixel 7. Unlike Google’s smartphone which has a 90Hz refresh rate, Asus’s smartphone will have a 120Hz refresh rate. For its processor, the source says it will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset under its hood, paired with 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. It is not known yet if there will be other configurations, but there is a possibility of Asus launching a 6GB, 8GB RAM, or 12GB RAM model. Like so many other manufacturers, Asus has ditched the MicroSD card slot, so it is not expected that the Zenfone 10 would have one. To complement the bigger display, the upcoming phone will have a larger battery capacity. The battery capacity is revealed to be 5000mAh in size, a significant bump from the 4300mAh battery in the previous generation. In addition to packing a larger battery, the Zenfone 10 will also charge significantly faster at 67W. For context, the Zenfone 9 supports 30W fast charging. There isn’t a mention of support for wireless charging, and knowing Asus, it is best not to expect such a feature. Another area that will be getting a major upgrade is the camera. One Phone For Two Demographics The Zenfone 10 will follow in the footsteps of Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra and launch with a 200MP primary rear camera with OIS. Sadly, there’s no available info on the other sensors. Nevertheless, the Zenfone 10 will have an IP68 dust and waterproof rating and is reported to ship with Android 13 out of the box when it arrives in the fourth quarter of the year. There is no info on the price, but one shouldn’t rule out the possibility of a price increase considering the upgrades. With respect to availability, the Zenfone 10, like the Zenfone 9 before it, should be sold in the U.S. The specs, while unconfirmed, make the Zenfone 10 worth looking forward to. However, the switch to a bigger display may be sad news for those who loved the Zenfone 9’s compact size, though there is a plausible reason for Asus’s decision. Unlike the Zenfone 8 series which launched in two sizes, that wasn’t the case with the Zenfone 9. So while the Zenfone 9 might have been well-received, there is a chance that Asus also lost fans who preferred the bigger model. With the Zenfone 10, it can kill two birds with one stone, as the screen size, while not as small as its predecessor’s, is still smaller than several flagships on the market.
