The Mandalorian Easter egg involves Grogu destroying all search results one by one using the Force. The effect is available on browser-based Google searches on all major desktop and mobile platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android. To check out the Easter egg, search for ‘The Mandalorian’ using a web browser on a desktop, laptop, smartphone or tablet. Now simply wait for Baby Yoda to appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and then click/tap on him to see the magic happen.
Once Grogu is clicked or tapped, the Easter egg is activated, leading to him taking down the search results, one at a time. The first result to be taken down is the one at the top of the search listings, which in this case is The Mandolorian‘s Wikipedia page. The next time Grogu is clicked or tapped on, the ‘Top Stories‘ box will be taken down, followed by the ‘Cast‘ box, the IMDB page, and so on.
To stop Grogu from any more destruction and restore all the destroyed search results, simply click on the big ‘X’ at the bottom of the screen. Grogu will be removed from the frame and users will be able to surf through the search results normally. It is worth noting that the Easter egg is also activated when searching for ‘Grogu,’ the ‘The Mandalorian child,’ or variations of that, but not when searching for ‘Baby Yoda.’
As for Grogu, the first episode of season 3 saw him back with his adoptive father, Din Djarin, despite having left him to train with Luke Skywalker in the final episode of season 2. While the return wasn’t explained in The Mandalorian, those who have watched The Book of Boba Fett know why he left Jedi training to get back with Djarin. Either way, now that he’s back, viewers can expect to see more of him in the new season. Meanwhile, Google’s latest Easter egg is expected to bring more attention to The Mandalorian, and in the process, entertain users with Grogu’s destructive antics.
