You Can Search Your Call History More Easily with This iPhone Feature

Scrolling through the Recent Calls tab on your iPhone to locate the appropriate voicemail or to recall the last time you received a call may be annoying. However, you may locate that call more quickly in your recent call history by using this iOS 18 trick.

RCS messaging and a configurable home screen were just two of the many new features that Apple introduced with iOS 18, which was launched in September. Additionally, it added a search bar to the Phone app on your iPhone, which makes it simple to go through your voicemails and call history. Prior to iOS 18, a running list of all calls made to and from your iPhone could be seen on the Recent Calls tab of your Phone app. Instead of scrolling through the list pointlessly, you can now quickly search through it.

Here are some tips for using the search feature in the Recents tab on your iPhone.

Can I use my iPhone to look up recent calls?

Yes, with iOS 18. Go to the Phone app and choose Recents from the menu at the bottom to search your recent calls. To see the Calls and Voicemails sections, tap the search bar at the top of the screen to bring up a new menu. There is also the option to See All in each of these selections.

If you want to look for a certain contact’s name, phone, or dates, you may use the search box. For instance, entering “mom” or “dad” will display your parent’s contact card along with all of their voicemails and phone calls. Likewise, if you type “August” or “July” into the search field, all of the calls and voicemails from that month will appear.

Additionally, you may specify a specific date, such as “July 5,” to get voicemails and calls from that day.
