When (& How) You Can Get Apple’s New Yellow iPhone 14 and 14 Plus

Apple first debuted the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus in five different colors, but the company refreshed the lineup with a new yellow option in March 2023.

Buyers looking for a new iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus have a new color to choose from, expanding the lineup to six colors. Apple initially debuted the iPhone 14 lineup back in September 2022 in five different colors: midnight, starlight, product red, blue, and purple. However, Apple has a trend of refreshing its product lines with new colorways in the spring of each year. Sometimes this coincides with a spring event, but the announcements can also come quietly through a press release and website refresh. This year, the company chose the latter method.

Apple’s spring colorway for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus is a bright yellow that’s noticeably different from the other yellow currently sold by the company. The iPhone 14’s yellow is lighter than the yellow iMac, which has a much deeper and darker tone. It’s closer in color to the yellow found on the 10th-generation iPad, but the iPad still has a bolder hue than the iPhone 14.

In fact, the yellow iPhone 14 might be most similar to the new Volt Yellow color on the Beats Fit Pro. While more subdued than Apple’s latest earbuds, the iPhone 14’s yellow has a neon hue that is a blend between bright and pastel.

How To Order The Yellow iPhone 14 & 14 Plus

The yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus is available for pre-order starting March 10 on Apple’s website or the Apple Store app. It’ll be available to the public starting March 14, just a few days after pre-orders open. Since the release is only a minor color refresh, it’s likely that there will be yellow iPhones 14 and 14 Plus available in-store for purchase on March 14. Both models remain at their current price point for the yellow color: $799 for the iPhone 14 and $899 for the iPhone 14 Plus.

Before the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus color debuted, Apple increased the trade-in values available to users with older products. Now, prospective buyers can get up to $600 store credit toward a new product, depending on the product that is swapped. Essentially, this means that people looking to buy the yellow iPhone 14 can do so for a considerably lower cost if they trade in their current iPhone.

Though the iPhone 14 comes in six fresh colors, it is still similar to the iPhone 13 under the hood. For that reason, it might be best to take a look at buying an iPhone 13 at a lower cost.
